Softness is a key quality feature of textiles, leather, fleece and other flexible materials.

Following in-depth scientific research, the new Softometer II uses flexural rigidity as a benchmark for softness.

The softometer has been designed in such a way that the measured values can be compared without the need to specify additional device parameters. The materials are therefore not only measured uniformly, but the measurement results are also comparable.

Features:The new Softometer II

Measuring range [mN]: 0-2000

Scaling [mN]: 1

Bending angle of the sample: 30°

Free bending length: 15 mm

Operating modes: Time switch (10sec.) / Relaxation (live)

Dimensions [mm]: 180 x 290 x 270 [LxBxH]

Weight: 4,7kg

Operating voltage: 5V

Two different operating modes are available. The first is a timer, in which a measured value is displayed after 10 seconds. This is used for normal quality testing. There is also the relaxation test (live) for scientific investigations, in which the measured values are displayed continuously and change depending on the time. The operating modes can be switched freely by the user.

The force sensor is recalibrated each time it is switched on.
